NHTSA Complaint Statement Vehicle Information 2018 Nissan Rogue SL AWD VIN: [XXX] Component Affected Power Train – Rear Differential / AWD Electric Coupling Assembly Summary of Problem The rear differential electric coupling assembly failed, causing AWD malfunction and unsafe driving conditions. Nissan issued Technical Service Bulletin NTB20-069 acknowledging this defect on 2014-2020 Rogue AWD vehicles built before certain VINs. My vehicle’s VIN is within the affected build range, yet I was told it is not covered because it is “not part of the recall.” Safety Concerns Failure of the AWD coupling affects vehicle handling, especially in wet or slippery conditions, creating a significant safety hazard. Request I believe this issue should be treated as a formal recall so that affected owners are not left with expensive, unsafe repairs for a known defect.
