NHTSA Complaint #11719206 — 2018 NISSAN ROGUE

The front passenger car door failed to lock. It is considered a safety issue as it can leave the vehicle vulnerable to theft and may also pose a risk while driving if the door opens unexpectedly. It's important to address this problem promptly to ensure safety and security. There were no warning messages indicating the failed lock. I just happened to pull the handle and that door opened when all other doors remained locked. Prior to this discovery, I had experienced an incident where someone went through my car and took out valuables (coins and cash) but I was unaware that the door was not locking. Once the issue was identified, I took the car to the dealership for diagnosis, and the issue was a short in the door lock actuator (4 door 2018 Nissan Rouge). I took the car in for immediate diagnosis and costly repair ($852.03) as I did not feel comfortable driving or parking a car which could not be locked.
