NHTSA Complaint #11687818 — 2023 NISSAN ROGUE

The contact owns a 2023 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that while driving approximately 75 MPH, there was a slight shudder coming from the vehicle, and the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle lost power and then went into LIMP Mode. The vehicle was pulled over to the shoulder and off the exit ramp, and then parked. The vehicle was turned off and restarted. The contact inspected the vehicle but saw no visible leaks. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed, and determined that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was then towed to a dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 118,400.
