NHTSA Complaint #11687362 — 2022 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500

I am writing to formally report a serious issue with my 2022 Chevy Silverado which I purchased brand new. Within just a few months of ownership, during a routine oil change, I was informed by the service technician that there was an oil leak. I took the truck to the dealership, and they claimed the issue was resolved by replacing the oil pan. However, the oil consumption continued, without knowing and still, no warning lights ever appeared. As the engine is the heart of any vehicle, this ongoing issue posed a serious safety risk, especially while driving on the highway. Eventually, after the warranty expired, the engine issue worsened. I contacted GM and the dealership again, but I was told that GM could only offer minimal assistance toward a new engine — despite the fact that this engine exhibits the same oil consumption problems reported in other V8 engines currently involved in lawsuits and recalls. I believe this is a manufacturer defect that should have been properly addressed under warranty. The failure of the engine so early in the vehicle’s life, with a known issue that matches recalled engines, is unacceptable. I am seeking a fair resolution, including full coverage of the engine replacement.
