NHTSA Complaint #11683697 — 2013 FORD F-150

Transmission down shifting and sticking in gear intermittently. Google search shows this: Ford has issued recalls and extended warranty programs for a molded lead frame issue in its automatic transmissions, particularly the 6R80 in F-150s from 2011-2013 and a 2014-only recall (24S37), where a faulty output speed sensor could cause an unintended downshift to first gear. This downshift can lead to the loss of vehicle control and an increased crash risk, although Ford also had a separate recall in 2016 for 2011-2013 F-150s with six-speed transmissions that could suddenly downshift. I called Ford service and was told the program expired and nothing could be done at this time.
