NHTSA Complaint #11680864 — 2014 RAM 1500

The contact owns a 2014 Ram 1500. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the fuel tank of the vehicle unexpectedly detached from the vehicle. The contact was able to attach the fuel back to the frame of the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed that the fuel tank bracket frame was severely corroded and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer was contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 190,831.
