NHTSA Complaint #11680113 — 2019 FORD F-150

The contact owns a 2019 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving at 45 MPH and coming to a stop, there was an abnormal knocking sound coming from the engine. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that the engine sounded rough, and the vehicle was driving roughly on the way to the residence. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic to be diagnosed, and it was determined that the engine had lost compression in two cylinders. The contact was informed that the long block needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The failure mileage was 114,785.
