The contact owns a 2014 Ford Explorer. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the driver's and passenger's side A-pillar trim detached and flew off the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where the independent mechanic provided a temporary repair. The contact stated that the failure had occurred twice, and each time the vehicle was taken to the independent mechanic for a temporary repair. The dealer was made aware of the failure but provided no assistance. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V031000 (Structure); however, the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair.
