NHTSA Complaint #11670157 — 2015 CHRYSLER 200

The contact owns a 2015 Chrysler 200. The contact stated that upon starting the vehicle and attempting to shift the gear shifter on several occasions, the vehicle failed to shift into the intended gear. The contact stated that upon turning off and restarting the vehicle, the vehicle responded as needed. Additionally, the contact stated that while attempting to drive to make a turn from a complete stop at a five-way intersection, the accelerator pedal was depressed but the vehicle failed to respond. The contact stated that the vehicle felt like the transmission was in neutral(N), but the gear shift indicator light indicated that the vehicle was in reverse(R) before the vehicle stalled. The vehicle was towed to the residence of the contact's brother. The dealer was notified of the failure, but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 16V529000 (Power Train); however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was unknown.
