NHTSA Complaint #11666484 — 2011 FORD F-150

The contact owns a 2011 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked on an incline, the contact started the vehicle and depressed the brake pedal; however, the vehicle started to roll backwards. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where it was determined that the vacuum booster pump had failed. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and confirmed that the vacuum booster was previously replaced in 2018. The contact was referred to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 85,000.
