NHTSA Complaint #11663606 — 2022 RAM 1500

The contact owns a 2022 Ram 1500. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 15-20 MPH coming to a stop light, the contact attempted to apply the brake pedal however the brakes failed to engage and the vehicle did not stop. The vehicle went through a stoplight, and another vehicle crashed into the driver's side of the vehicle. The air bags did not deploy. The vehicle was towed. The contact received injuries to the right arm, right thumb, and back. The driver in the other vehicle sustained injuries as well. Medical attention was needed. A police report was filed. The vehicle was taken to a local body shop, which diagnosed that the frame needed to be repaired due to the extensive amount of damage. The vehicle was not diagnosed for the experienced failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V653000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulics, Electronic Stability Control (ESC)) the next day. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was 65,140.
