NHTSA Complaint #11659692 — 2023 GMC YUKON

The contact owns a 2023 GMC Yukon. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V274000 (Engine and Engine Cooling); however, the part to do the recall repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The contact stated while driving approximately 45 MPH and passing another vehicle, the vehicle stalled. The contact noticed that the vehicle had unexpectedly shifted into neutral. The vehicle was coasted to the nearest parking lot and stopped. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the dealer who diagnosed the vehicle and determined that the engine had seized. The contact was informed that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired.
