Consumer Description

When accelerating on the highway at approximately 55mph, I had a sudden downshift from 6th to 3rd gear that caused me to slow down unexpectedly and lose control, go off the roadway into the shoulder. What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? - TRANSMISSION, YES How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? CAUSED ME TO GO OFF THE ROADWAY INTO SHOULDER WITH MY K9 Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? YES - MULTIPLE TIMES OVER LAST 2 YEARS Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? BY MULTIPLE FORD DEALERS AND INDEPENDENT MECHANICS Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? ONLY THE TRANSMISSION GEAR HUNTING WHEN ACCELERATING
