NHTSA Complaint #11645342 — 2019 FORD ECOSPORT

The contact owns a 2019 Ford EcoSport. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V905000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING); however, the part to do the recall repair were not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The dealer was made aware of the issue. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The contact stated while driving 40 MPH, the vehicle failed to respond. The check engine and the wrench warning lights were illuminated. On another occasion, while driving the vehicle at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle shut off without warning. An independent mechanic diagnosed the vehicle with engine failure. The vehicle started to lose motive power and progressively continued to stall and shut off. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and received undisclosed repairs; however, while driving to the residence the vehicle shut off three times. The dealer informed the contact to stop driving the vehicle and a tow truck was sent to pick up the vehicle. The vehicle had been with the dealer awaiting the repair until May 1, 2024.
