NHTSA Complaint #11644730 — 2022 JEEP WRANGLER

The contact owns a 2022 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated while driving 50 MPH, the vehicle drove over a bump in the roadway, and the body of the vehicle was shaking and vibrating as if the body was going to be detached from the subframe. In addition, the contact stated that due to the failure, the contact was concerned that the wheels were going to detach from the vehicle. The contact decelerated and the vehicle was driven to the shoulder of the roadway. The vehicle was then taken to the dealer however, the failure was not duplicated. The contact stated that the vehicle had previously experienced the failure, and the vehicle was diagnosed with steering damper failure, front and rear shocks, and struts, and an alignment needed to be performed. The failure reoccurred after driving approximately 10,000 miles. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 39,568.
