Consumer Description

The contact owns a 2020 Ram 1500. The contact stated while driving on the highway at 15 MPH, the vehicle experienced a loss of automotive power and the transmission unexpectedly downshifted from 4th to 1st gear. The contact stated that the "Shift to Park, and then Start" message was displayed. No warning lights were illuminated. The contact stated that the vehicle shut off and coasted to a stop. The contact parked the vehicle on the side of the highway to restart the vehicle and continued driving. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 140,000.
