NHTSA Complaint #11639288 — 2023 CHEVROLET TAHOE

After getting gas just outside of Pueblo Colorado on [XXX] I was entering [XXX] and luckily I was in the right lane when all of a sudden no power to the vehicle. I was able to make it by inches in the clear on the shoulder of the road. Being [XXX], I had trouble crawling over the console through the passenger side of the vehicle because I could not safely see the traffic on the interstate to exit the vehicle on the driver side. The state police could not come to assist us with any type of traffic control because of other accidents. The BNSF railroad has a mutual aid pack with them when needed in an emergency situation. They were able to come assist us with the red lights for traffic control, and the tow truck arrived and was able to flatbed the vehicle to a GM Chevy dealership. The tow truck also delivered our 26 foot travel trailer to the nearby campground. If it wouldn’t have been for the BNSF police this could’ve been horrendous accident because of the traffic. I have never been in a more scary situation as with the 2023 Tahoe built by a major corporation and being as unsafe as it is. I have been told the engine needs to be replaced because the bearings failed with metal fragments found in the oil pan. GM has been aware of this problem with the 6.2 engine for many years and has never done anything. Is it gonna take people getting killed on the highway to get something done.
