NHTSA Complaint #11630146 — 2013 FORD EDGE

The contact called on behalf of her son who owns a 2013 Ford Edge. The contact stated that her son noticed that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the door sensor alarm activated and failed to turn off, with the door ajar roof light remaining illuminated. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds and depressing the brake pedal there was an abnormal hissing sound coming from the brake pedal. The contact stated that the brake pedal occasionally was hard while being depressed. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the driver’s side door sensor and the brake booster needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 95,000.
