NHTSA Complaint #11623512 — 2021 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 3500

The contact owns a 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 3500. The contact stated while driving at approximately 45 MPH, the brake pedal was depressed and extended to the floorboard, and the vehicle almost crashed into the rear of another vehicle. The contact later discovered that the rear driver’s side brake pad had been ejected from the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the local mechanic who was unable to determine the cause of the failure. Additionally, the contact stated that the transmission erroneously shifted out of 4-WD while driving. The contact stated that the failure had occurred on several occasions. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 49,000. The VIN was not available.
