NHTSA Complaint #11623123 — 2016 FORD F-150

The contact owns a 2016 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle downshifted with the check engine and transmission warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed and determined that the transmission had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer was contacted; however, the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 82,297.
