NHTSA Complaint #11615582 — 2015 FORD FUSION

The contact owns a 2015 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that after parking in the driveway and shifting to park, the contact exited the vehicle with the engine idling and the front driver’s side door opened. The contact walked down the driveway to retrieve the mail and suddenly the vehicle erroneously rolled down the driveway. The opened door struck and knocked the contact to the ground. The contact reached inside the vehicle and depressed the brake pedal to stop the vehicle from rolling while his wife engaged the parking brake. During the failure the contact sustained a separated right shoulder. No medical treatment was received. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The manufacturer and local dealer were contacted but no assistance was provided. The contact was informed that the VIN was not included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V413000 (Power Train). The contact stated that the vehicle had experienced the failure listed in the recall. The failure mileage was 121,000.
