NHTSA Complaint #11615550 — 2014 FORD FUSION

The contact owns a 2014 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that the sternum of the steering wheel where the front driver's side air bag was located was popping out, and the front driver's side air bag was visible and seemed to be partially deployed. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact stated that the vehicle was unsafe to drive. The dealer was notified of the failure and advised the contact to the take the vehicle to their location for diagnostic testing. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the vehicle was not covered under Ford Campaign Number: 19K02. The manufacturer referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 91,000.
