NHTSA Complaint #11615254 — 2023 BMW 740I

The contact owns a 2023 BMW 740I. The contact stated while driving approximately 10 MPH, the vehicle came to a sudden stop; however, the brake pedal was not depressed. The message "Drive Carefully - Brake System" was displayed on the instrument panel and the check engine warning light was illuminated. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V104000 (Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Service Brakes); however, the part to do the recall repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but was unable to confirm when parts would become available. The failure mileage was approximately 40,000. VIN tool confirms parts not available.
