NHTSA Complaint #11615071 — 2014 GMC ACADIA

The contact owns a 2014 GMC Acadia. The contact stated while driving 75 MPH, several unknown warning lights illuminated. Additionally, the vehicle made an abnormal clunking sound and failed to exceed 40 MPH. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed and determined that the transmission had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was towed to dealer, where the same assessment was made. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 159,000.
