NHTSA Complaint #11612414 — 2023 HONDA CR-V

The contact owns a 2023 Honda CR-V. The contact stated that while his wife was driving at 15-20 MPH and attempting to come to a complete stop, the vehicle suddenly accelerated on its own. As a result, the driver briefly lost control of the vehicle before coming to a complete stop by intentionally running into a curb on the side of the roadway. The air bags did not deploy. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer or an independent mechanic. After investigating the failure, the contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V588000 (Power Train), but the VIN was not included. The vehicle was not repaired. A police report was filed, but no injuries were reported. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 16,000.
