NHTSA Complaint #11609599 — 2015 FORD FUSION

The contact owns a 2015 Ford Fusion. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed into a gas station, the contact shifted the transmission into reverse(R); however, the transmission inadvertently shifted into park(P). The transmission fault message was displayed. The contact stated that the transmission seized while in park(P). The vehicle was towed to the dealer, and the contact was informed that the vehicle had previously been repaired under NHTSA Campaign Number: 18V471000 (Power Train), but the failure persisted. The dealer determined that the shifter cable bushing needed to be replaced for the second time. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was opened. The failure mileage was approximately 147,000.
