The contact owns a 2018 Ford EcoSport. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V905000 (Engine and Engine Cooling). The contact stated that while her daughter was driving approximately 65 MPH, the “Low Oil Pressure” message was displayed. Additionally, the contact stated that there was a rattling sound coming from the engine compartment. The vehicle was steered to the side of the road and turned off. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic. The contact was informed that there was an open recall on the vehicle and that the independent mechanic could not repair the vehicle under the recall. The vehicle was towed to a dealer to be diagnosed and the contact was informed that the engine and oil pump needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure.
