NHTSA Complaint #11605212 — 2018 HONDA ODYSSEY

The contact owns a 2018 Honda Odyssey. The contact stated while driving 70 MPH, the vehicle independently decelerated. The contact stated that several unknown warning lights were illuminated. Additionally, the contact became aware of a knocking sound coming from the engine compartment. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed with engine failure. The contact was informed that the engine needed to be replaced or repaired. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact was informed of an unknown recall with a similar failure; however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but provided no assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 98,000.
