NHTSA Complaint #11604595 — 2018 FORD ECOSPORT

The contact owns a 2018 Ford EcoSport. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the oil pressure warning light illuminated, and the RPMs were significantly reduced while driving. Additionally, there was a loud rattling sound coming from the engine compartment. The contact also stated that the check engine warning light was flashing on and off. An independent mechanic diagnosed the vehicle at the residence and informed the contact that the vehicle should not be driven. The contact was informed that the vehicle should be taken to the dealer for assistance. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact related the failure with NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V905000 (Engine and Engine Cooling); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure.
