Consumer Description

The contact owns a 2017 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, there was an abnormal rattling sound coming from under the hood. No warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer where it was diagnosed that 4 cam shaft phasers had failed. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact related the failure to Customer Satisfaction Program: 21N03; however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 90,000.
