NHTSA Complaint #11600178 — 2024 CHEVROLET TRAVERSE

On May 14 a service bulletin was released by GM for an issue with the transmission #N242446290 causing a reduced acceleration suddenly and finally zero acceleration after a few minutes unexpectedly. I purchased this car brand new on [XXX] and was not made aware of this potential problem. On [XXX] we took a family vacation road trip from TX to Gatlinburg, TN. The transmission failed and the engine gave zero acceleration the night of [XXX]. I had to have GM roadside tow the vehicle to a Chevy dealer there in Tennessee and then rent a car out of my own pocket to drive home. This is a safety hazard for sure with the vehicles listed on this bulletin as it gives no warning of failure while driving. I was pulling onto the road with traffic when the engine light came on and I lost all power, unable to move out of the way.
