The contact owns a 2016 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the engine coolant over temperature warning light illuminated. The contact stopped the vehicle and checked the coolant level. The contact stated that the coolant level was sufficient. The contact proceeded to drive the vehicle to the intended destination. The contact stated that when the speed increased above 20 MPH, the vehicle jerked violently. The engine overheated and then seized. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed with engine failure due to coolant intrusion into the cylinders. The contact was informed that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer was made aware of the failure. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 110,500.
