The contact owns a 2019 Ford EcoSport. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V905000 (Engine and Engine Cooling); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle failed to accelerate properly. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed; however, the contact was unsure of the diagnostic report. The dealer was made aware of the failure and advised the contact to take the vehicle in to be inspected. The contact stated while driving to the dealer, the vehicle lost motive power and stalled. The vehicle was towed to the dealer. The contact was unsure if the vehicle was diagnosed; however, the dealer informed the contact that the engine had seized, and that the failure was linked to the recall campaign. However, parts to perform the recall repair were not yet available. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was opened. The failure mileage was approximately 66,000.
