NHTSA Complaint #11593956 — 2020 NISSAN ROGUE

The ignition switch (push start button) stopped working. At the time, the key fob batteries were new. The key fobs were still working - the lock/unlock worked, the trunk release worked, and the remote start even worked. The 'trick' of holding the tip of the key fob to the start button did not start the car. This is a safety hazard because my car will not start. Luckily I was at home, but I could have been stranded somewhere. My car is currently at a Nissan dealership. I was hoping that the computer codes just needed to be reset. However, they are telling me the Body Control Module needs to be replaced. I would like the BCM investigated by the NHTSA. Previous years of the Nissan Rogue have had BCM issues. My particular car has not been in any circumstance that would make the BCM go bad - it's only four years old and has not been exposed to flood or extreme heat/cold. The 'key battery low' light came on the dash a couple weeks prior. I had just replaced the key fob battery in both fobs the day before the start button issue.
