NHTSA Complaint #11587421 — 2015 JEEP WRANGLER

The contact owns a 2015 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated while driving at approximately 55 MPH, the vehicle jerked. The check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was pulled to the side of the road, and was restarted; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed with a coil pack failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the vehicle was taken to several different independent mechanics however, the cause of the failure was not yet determined. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed with leakage on the left cylinder. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact discovered Technical Service Bulletin: 09-002-14; however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 84,000.
