NHTSA Complaint #11587237 — 2015 JEEP CHEROKEE

The contact owned a 2015 Jeep Cherokee. While the contact's husband was driving at unknown speeds, the husband accidentally stepped on the accelerator pedal and the front bumper crashed into a brick wall that was in front of the contact's air conditioning unit. The air bags did not deploy. The contact's husband sustained cuts, bruises, and neck injuries. The vehicle was towed to a collision shop. The vehicle was destroyed. There was a police report filed. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was opened. The contact stated that the manufacturer's representative pulled the data recorder from the vehicle and an assessment was made of the data from the crash. The failure mileage was approximately 111,000.
