NHTSA Complaint #11586079 — 2018 HONDA ACCORD

The contact owns a 2018 Honda Accord. The contact stated that the vehicle was previously repaired under NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V858000 (Fuel System, Gasoline); however, the failure occurred. The contact stated that there was a delay while attempting to start the vehicle. Additionally, the contact stated while driving at various speeds and depressing the accelerator pedal, the vehicle failed to respond, shuddered, and decelerated independently. Additionally, the vehicle intermittently lunged forward while depressing the accelerator pedal. The check engine warning light, Forward Collision Avoidance, braking system, and other unknown warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the fuel injectors had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the vehicle was not covered under an unknown extended warranty. The failure mileage was approximately 50,000.
