NHTSA Complaint #11583184 — 2023 FISKER OCEAN

My Fisker Ocean Extreme has been inoperable since [XXX]. Initially, a Fisker rep told me it was likely due to software update Fisker pushed to the car, causing the car alarm to sound and the 12 volt battery to die. Fisker did not notify me that it was pushing an update to my car on [XXX], nor did I “accept” or “install” any update. The car was parked at the time. On [XXX] and [XXX], the rep tried unsuccessfully on two occasions to repair the car. Ultimately, he stated that a connector “welded” itself (his words) to the high voltage battery. Although the rep said the “welding” was rare, it has occurred. Before he left my car, he disconnected wires and further rendered the car inoperable. Fisker promised to arrange no later than [XXX] for the car to be towed and repaired in La Palma. However, despite repeated calls and emails, Fisker has rejected my requests for repair. The "welding" indicates a high level of heat involving the high voltage battery, which is a significant safety concern. The car also had significant issues with regenerative braking not working, which I also complained to Fisker about.
