NHTSA Complaint #11582080 — 2018 HONDA ODYSSEY

* An engine failure occurred due a connecting rod bearing seizure. The engine was replaced at Bryan Honda in Fayetteville NC. Unless the dealer is required to save the parts I don't have them for inspection. * The engine failure occurred on the travel portion of [XXX] stalling the vehicle on the highway. Luckily we were able to move the vehicle off the traveled portion of the highway but it was not safe to be slightly of the road until a tow arrived. * The problem with this type engine is known and subject to recall number [XXX] although Honda says my specific VIN isn't covered when I submitted a claim, possible the recall could be expanded. *The engine and components were inspected at the Honda dealer. *The check engine light started flashing just as the engine lost power.
