NHTSA Complaint #11579558 — 2019 HONDA CR-V

> What component or system failed or malfunctioned. Brake fluid line defect resulted in total loss of braking power. Line spraying brake fluid in engine compartment. >Is it available for inspection upon request? Yes, but it is scheduled to be worked on in two days. >How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? Total loss of braking power. Fortunately, the problem manifest in our home driveway at slow speed. >Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? Yes, by a Honda dealer service center. Dealer concluded that failure of the original equipment Honda battery resulted in acid leaking on brake components and resulted in the bursting of the brake line and total loss of braking. >Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? No. >Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? No.
