NHTSA Complaint #11578664 — 2017 FORD FOCUS

The contact stated that while driving at approximately 60 MPH, the vehicle stalled and was pulled to the shoulder of the road, The Check Engine warning light had illuminated. The vehicle failed to restart and was left in a parking lot, where it was diagnosed by a local independent mechanic. The mechanic determined that the engine oil pump had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not towed. The contact received a notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V905000 (Engine and Engine Cooling) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The local dealer was contacted. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. VIN tool confirms parts are not available. The failure mileage was approximately 90,000.
