NHTSA Complaint #11575944 — 2012 FORD EDGE

The contact owns a 2012 Ford Edge. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the oil pressure warning light illuminated, and the vehicle lost motive power. The contact restarted the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed with engine failure, and it was determined that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was filed. The contact was advised to report the failure to the NHTSA Hotline. The failure mileage was approximately 92,000.
