The contact stated while his wife was driving approximately 35 MPH, the engine made an abnormal sound, and the low-oil pressure warning light was illuminated. Additionally, the vehicle lost motive power. The contact's wife was able to pull into a parking lot. The vehicle failed to restart and was towed to the residence, where an independent mechanic diagnosed the vehicle and determined that the engine had seized. The dealer was notified of the failure and an appointment was scheduled for diagnostic testing. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure.
