Consumer Description
The contact owns a 2016 Ford Explorer. The contact stated that when the vehicle was shifted into drive(D), the vehicle started shaking abnormally. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed with a failed transmission and that the transmission needed to be replaced. The contact was informed about TSB: [XXX]. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and advised the contact to report the failure to the NHTSA Hotline. The failure mileage was approximately 110,000.
