NHTSA Complaint #11569458 — 2016 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE

The contact owns a 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that after refueling the vehicle and attempting to start the vehicle, the vehicle failed to start. The vehicle was sputtering and hesitating while being started. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle had been towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the fuel pump and the electrical wiring system had failed. The contact was informed that the failure was related to NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V406000 (Fuel System, Diesel) however, the VIN was not included. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure, and it was confirmed the VIN was not included in the recall. The contact was referred to NHTSA Hotline to file a complaint. The failure mileage was 30,000.
