NHTSA Complaint #11565742 — 2007 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500

The contact owns a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 45 MPH, the passenger’s side frontal air bag and driver’s side steering wheel air bag deployed without impact. The service air bag warning light was illuminated. Additionally, the front windshield was cracked due to the air bag deployment. The contact stated that no injuries were sustained. The contact stated that the air bags were previously replaced under an unknown recall. The contact drove the vehicle to the residence. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The local dealer was made aware of the failure. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 186,000.
