The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the low oil pressure warning light illuminated on the instrument panel, after which the contact heard an abnormal sound coming from the engine compartment. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who was unable to determine the cause of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, who diagnosed a failure with the oil pump belt, resulting in damage to the engine. The contact was informed that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. After investigating the failure, the contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V905000 (Engine and Engine Cooling); however, parts were not yet available.
