NHTSA Complaint #11564887 — 2023 FISKER OCEAN

I was driving on [XXX] in the Dallas area when the parking brake suddenly and unexpectedly engaged. I tried to disengage it manually using the button to the left of the steering wheel, but it would not disengage. Due to the higher speed of being on a state highway, the vehicle quickly became unstable and within a few seconds the brakes locked up and I went into a spin crossing two lanes in the process. I was lucky that no other vehicles were in the path of travel and I eventually came to a stop pointing the wrong way on a 6 lane highway. Even after coming to a stop I could not disengage the parking brake. I forced the car to drive with the brake engaged and I pulled off the road and got out of the vehicle. Smoke was pouring from the braking system and upon inspection of the wheels, both rear wheels were on fire (which I took video of). I tried calling the Fisker support line to get some help, but was informed that the app was also not working and I would need to submit a ticket, which I did (case [XXX]). Eventually the flames died out and I was able to get back into the car and “carefully” drive it home. This was not the first time the Software in the Vehicle malfunctioned, but it was the first time that I felt at risk of being harmed.
