The contact owns a 2016 Kia Soul. The contact stated that the vehicle was experiencing abnormal oil consumption. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who informed the contact that oil was leaking into the catalytic converter. The vehicle was taken to another independent mechanic, where an oil change was performed after two weeks. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 147,360.
