Consumer Description

The contact owns a 2013 Ford Taurus. The contact stated that while starting the vehicle, the Electric Power Steering fault message was displayed, and the vehicle experienced a loss of power steering assist. The contact restarted the vehicle and was able to correct the failure. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who retrieved a DTC code for the electric power steering, but no repair was recommended. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 122,000.
